What is Dancefair? 

Dancefair is one of Europe's leading conferences in Electronic Music. Boasting a line-up of some of the world's biggest artists in dance, trance, hardstyle, house, hip-hop, trap and pop music, Dancefair aims to connect, educate and empower music makers. With 100+ labels and 7,000+ delegates attending, 200+ masterclasses and a 8,000+ m2  event space, Dancefair is the ideal networking place for both upcoming talent as well as the established music industry.

Jayce got into music at a young age, It was when I saw a queen performance on TV (Live Aid) that it struck me. The sound of the guitar from Brian May, the Rhythms from Roger Taylor and the presence of Freddie on stage, it gave me this calling card moment...this is what I should do with my life.

Arno Cost

Arno started making music at 16 and remembers listening to people like Michael Jackson, Queen, Supertramp and getting goosebumps. It was such a great feeling and now he wanted to make people feel the same. Starting out in his bedroom studio he began with the first versions of FL Studio.

Tom Swoon won us all over with his humility and eagerness to explain his workflow and production techniques. In this video Tom takes us through his FL Studio project for ‘Here I Stand’ and shows the importance of layering and EQ in achieving his clean, fresh sound.

About Tom Swoon

 

Tom Swoon, was born in the small city of Goleniow in Poland. His interest in music started at a very young age; Tom was fascinated by rock music and started his very own rock band together with a group of friends when he was just 14. Jamming on the guitar was a daily escape and only fuelled his passion further. At the age of 17, he discovered electronic dance music and was inspired by artists such as Deadmau5 and Daft Punk.

Next in our Dancefair 2016 series, Sacco's Performance Mode Demo. We're making this project available for download from our FL Studio users forums (Looptalk) so click below to grab it. Later, we'll also release a tutorial video explaining how the project was made and how it works in detail.

About the performance

 

The performance uses 4 x Launchpad Pros, triggering Audio, Pattern and Automation Clips in FL Studio and animations from FL Studio back to the Launchpads. Also triggered, FL Studio's ZGameEditor Visualizer FX plugin, used to project video FX on the video-wall, provide DMX control of lights and a smoke machine. They wouldn't let us have fire! 🙂 Everything you see and hear is powered by FL Studio running on a Razer Blade laptop.
